Commercial sourcing scope
A manufacturing inquiry is most effective when it defines the route, fiber performance, cable construction and acceptance evidence instead of asking for a generic “best cable.” This page is the commercial destination for buyers evaluating fiber optic cable manufacturing capability.
Manufacturing capability should be evaluated against the requested design: loose-tube or tight-buffered construction, fiber count, central or stranded core, water blocking, strength members, armor, sheath material, marking, drum length and test plan. Each quotation should identify which elements are standard and which require a design review.
Specification and selection table
| Decision item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Application input | Duct, direct burial, aerial, indoor or drop |
| Optical input | Fiber standard, count and attenuation limits |
| Mechanical input | Tensile, crush, bend and environmental conditions |
| Acceptance output | Data sheet, test method, limits, sampling and report format |
Standards and engineering interpretation
For cable testing, IEC 60794 should be cited by applicable part, edition and test method. Fiber performance may reference the relevant ITU-T G.65x recommendation. Project-specific fire, construction and local code requirements must be identified separately.
For broader technical context, review fiber optic cable types and our quality-assurance method.
